Then a College Student Offered to Move

A young man in 22C eventually raised his hand.

“What if I take 27B?”

The flight attendant looked at the seating chart.

That could work.

The mother could take 22C.

But her son was in 18B.

They still wouldn’t be together.

Then the passenger in 18C spoke up.

She had been quiet the entire time.

“I’ll take 22C.”

Now there was a chain.

The woman from 18C would move to 22C.

The mother would move into 18C.

Her son could stay in 18B.

Rachel could remain in 18A.

It worked.

The flight attendant reorganized the seats.

The mother sat beside her son.

Rachel kept her window seat.

Problem solved.

Or at least it should have been.
